Our house at number 7 rue de la Mayade, is a small dwelling built some time between 1600 and 1700 AD in the historic village of Sigoulès in the Dordogne, 16 kilometres south of Bergerac in the heart of wine country.
The house consists of a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room.
The house is fully equipped for 2 persons to spend a comfortable and relaxing time.
Linen, bedding, iron and ironing board, fridge/freezer, microwave and gas oven, washing machine and dryer are all included in the fittings.
At this stage, the house is NOT equipped with
toaster, telephone, internet or television, thus allowing you to fully immerse
yourself in French life and culture.
Your own transport is necessary as public transport is not connected to the village. However, Sigoulès is a short drive from both the Bergerac airport and the train station where car hire facilities are readily available.
The area is bursting with spectacular counrtyside and historical sites. The prehistoric and internationally renowned caves of Lascaux are an easy drive away.
The village itself boasts a small supermarket, bakery (boulangerie), chemist, florist, newsagency, ATM, 2 cafés and 4 hairdressers ! – all less than 2 minutes walk from the house.
